"The man who removes a mountain begins by carrying away small stones."
—— Chinese proverb

That's kinda how I work. It's...not very good advice. (half-frown) With some stuff, if you get bogged down in the details, you never get done. Like writing. I really need to learn to resist busywork like correcting grammar or punctuation, or fiddling with wording, until after I've got the meat of the thing written. Editing comes later!

Speaking of editing, you broke my friends page with that ultermegawide thing there.

Huh? If your Friends page is broken, it's not [livejournal.com profile] gwalla's entry that did it. There's nothing exceptionally wide here, and my Friends page is just fine...

In fact, now that I've looked at your Friends page, the culprit is the entry above it from [livejournal.com profile] magneticcheeks, who for some reason has enclosed several long sentences in span tags that are preventing them from word-wrapping...

Nope. The last line on this post is ultrawide. It's also in courier. I posted my comment here before Cheeks's post showed up.

Specifically the pre doesn't close, and it doesn't wrap.

Ah, OK. Just checked it out with Internet Explorer, and you're right; it doesn't wrap. It looked fine to me before, but that's because I was using Firefox.

Yet another reason not to use IE, I guess. ;)

It doesn't work right in Safari, either, nor the copy of Mozilla I have. the PRE tag doesn't close, so it keeps going.

Sorry about the HTML weirdness. Deepest Sender must've added that pre tag when I copied and pasted the proverb from an email—I didn't even realize it was there.
