RIP, Neal Hefti
Oct. 16th, 2008 04:00 pmWhile the '60s Batman TV show and movie are mainly remembered as something to mock these days, everybody likes the old Batman Theme. Mr. Hefti, this Batusi's for you.
Fun fact: while he's best known for writing the Batman Theme, and to a lesser extent for the Odd Couple theme, Mr. Hefti spent much of his career composing and arranging music for Frank Sinatra and jazz greats such as Coleman Hawkins, Count Basie, and Buddy Rich.
(I'm embarassed to admit I was was under the mistaken impression that he'd died years ago until Neil Gaiman linked this obituary in his blog.)
