Happy turkey day!
Is it just me, or does the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade get lamer every year?
We've broken a family tradition today. We lost track of the time and missed the broadcast of Alice's Restaurant on the radio. However, we will be playing board games (Settlers this time) while sipping sparkling apple juice and snacking on homemade roasted almonds and sweet green olives (sadly not Graber, a brand that seems to have disappeared). Our dinner will also be our traditional layout: roast turkey with stuffing and gravy, cranberry sauce, brussels sprouts with red peppers, creamed onions, candied yams with plenty of brown sugar, and of course for dessert, pumpkin pie and pecan pie
